Diamond introduces a new class of piston-powered aircraft - the DA50 Magnum. There is no other aircraft like it on the market today. The Magnum offers the demanding piston pilot the ability to go farther without sacrificing carrying capacity. The Magnum delights the pocket book with a fuel consumption of only 6-7 gph at cruise and a max speed of over 150 knots.
Avionics
With its three screen Garmin G1000 suite of avionics - dual PFDs plus a separate MFD - the DA50 SuperStar cockpit impresses even turbine pilots. Additional equipment features include the fully digital GFC700 autopilot, as well as the latest in active traffic, weather avoidance and digital chart systems. The Magnum's dual-screen G1000 cockpit is state-of-the art and cost effective.
Power Plant
The DA50 Magnum leverages the Austro Engine AE 300, 170 hp turbo-diesel powerplant to achieve a speed of over 150 kts - while burning only 9 gph at maximum power, and 6-7 gph at cruise settings.
Durable Construction
Built out of durable, low drag composites, the DA50s stylish good looks will keep looking great for many years. The unlimited life airframe is far less prone to dents and dings from hangar rash when compared to an aluminum airplane. Composites also save weight as unlike working with aluminum, allow for putting strength where it's needed and save weight and material where it's not, which also increases interior room and comfort.
