KSUW2.5-R1J16 is a stainless steel worm with module 2.5, one start, right-hand helix, 16 mm bore, and a keyway of 5 mm width by 2.3 mm depth machined to JIS B1301 Js9 tolerance. It has a 42 mm pitch diameter, 45 mm face width, 18 mm hub width, and 63 mm total length. The worm is precision grade KHK W 002 grade 5, features a normal pressure angle of 20 degrees, and weighs 0.37 kg. It is designed for use with MC901 nylon worm wheels and produces axial thrust forces. Set screw and keyway are included.

A worm gear pair, or worm gear set, consists of two gears: the worm, which resembles a spiral screw, and the worm gear (aka, worm wheel).
For the pair to mesh, the worm and worm gear must have the same pressure angles, modules, and lead directions (left- or right-hand).
A worm revolves on a shaft that’s perpendicular to the worm gear and the shaft angle is typically 90°. Because the teeth gradually mesh as the worm rotates, there is low noise and low vibration.
