Module 2.5, 2-start right-handed ground steel worm shaft with a lead angle of 9°28', total length of 250 mm, shaft length of 50 mm, neck length of 27 mm, face width of 46 mm, pitch diameter of 75 mm, outside diameter of 35 mm, neck diameter of 23 mm, shaft diameter of 30.2 mm, and a weight of 1.27 kg. Precision grade KHK W 001 grade 2, with tooth surface induction hardened to 50-60 HRC. Material is SCM440. Axial thrust forces are produced during operation.
Module 2.5, 2 Start Right Handed Ground Steel Worm Shaft
A worm gear pair, or worm gear set, consists of two gears: the worm, which resembles a spiral screw, and the worm gear (aka, worm wheel).
For the pair to mesh, the worm and worm gear must have the same pressure angles, modules, and lead directions (left- or right-hand).
A worm revolves on a shaft that’s perpendicular to the worm gear and the shaft angle is typically 90°. Because the teeth gradually mesh as the worm rotates, there is low noise and low vibration.
