Nissei KKSP series ground spiral bevel gears are precision-machined alloy steel components with a 20° pressure angle and 35° helix angle, meeting JIS B 1704:1978 Grade 0 specifications. Made of SCM415 (or SCM420 for modules 3.5 and larger), they undergo carburizing with masked bores and hubs, achieving tooth hardness of 60-63 HRC or 80-83 HRA for modules 2 and 2.5. The KKSP0481.5GU variant has a 16-tooth pinion with a 32-tooth gear, module 2, right-hand spiral, pitch diameter of 32 mm, face width of 17.5 mm, bore diameter of 13 mm, and a machinable maximum bore of 10 mm. It has a mounting distance of 31 mm, keyway of 4 × 1.8 mm, allowable gear backlash of 0-0.05 mm, and weighs 2.02 kg. Secondary operations are not permitted due to the carburizing process. Axial thrust forces are generated during operation.
