The gear is made of SCM440 steel with induction-hardened tooth surfaces (50-60 HRC), complies with JIS grade N6 (JIS B1702-1:1998), and has a transverse pressure angle of 20° and helix angle of 21°30'. Dimensions include a pitch diameter of 150 mm, outside diameter of 150 mm, hub diameter of 85 mm, hub width of 16 mm, and total length of 41 mm. Allowable torque is 635 N·m (1090 kgf·m) with backlash ranging from 0.14 to 0.24 mm and weight of 3.95 kg. The gear produces axial thrust forces and is not interchangeable with KSH type helical gears.

Helical gears are comparable to spur gears, but due to the higher contact ratio, they are quieter, vibrate less, and experience less friction.
