Module 3 ground helical gears with 40 teeth and right-hand helix are precision-machined from SCM440 steel with induction-hardened tooth surfaces at 50-60 HRC, conforming to JIS grade N6 (JIS B1702-1:1998) and JIS grade 2 (JIS B1702:1976). The gears feature a 21°30' helix angle, 20° transverse pressure angle, and standard full-depth teeth. The bore diameter is 80 mm, with a hub diameter of 80 mm, pitch diameter of 120 mm, outside diameter of 126 mm, face width of 25 mm, hub width of 16 mm, and total length of 41 mm. The allowable torque is 482 N·m for bending strength and 670 N·m for surface durability, with backlash ranging from 0.14 to 0.24 mm and weight of 2.69 kg. These gears generate axial thrust forces and are not interchangeable with KSH type helical gears. Secondary operations on the tooth surface are prohibited due to induction hardening.

Helical gears are comparable to spur gears, but due to the higher contact ratio, they are quieter, vibrate less, and experience less friction.
