The gear has a 21°30' helix angle, 20° transverse pressure angle, 80 mm hub diameter, 120 mm pitch diameter, 126 mm outside diameter, 25 mm face width, 16 mm hub width, and 41 mm total length. Allowable bending strength is 482 N·m and surface durability is 670 N·m, with a backlash range of 0.14-0.24 mm and weight of 2.69 kg. Axial thrust forces are generated; right and left-hand versions are designed to mesh as a pair but are not interchangeable with KSH type helical gears.

Helical gears are comparable to spur gears, but due to the higher contact ratio, they are quieter, vibrate less, and experience less friction. Helical gear pairs have the same helix angle but opposite threads (left-hand and right-hand).
