The KCG4-50R2 is a right-hand lead bronze worm gear with a 50-tooth count, two starts, and a normal module of 4. It has a 20 mm bore, a 70 mm hub diameter, a 201.69 mm pitch diameter, a 208 mm outside diameter, and a 35 mm face width. The gear is made of FC200 gray iron with a standard full-depth tooth profile and a 14°30' normal pressure angle. It features a hub width of 17 mm and an overall length of 52 mm. Allowable torque values are provided for speeds up to 1200 rpm, with a backlash range of 0.17 to 0.37 mm and a weight of 4.78 kg. It is precision graded to KHK W 002 grade 4 and profile shifted to ensure proper center distance.
Module 4, 50 Tooth, 2 Start, Right Handed Cast Iron Worm Gear with Plain Bore
A worm gear pair, or worm gear set, consists of two gears: the worm, which resembles a spiral screw, and the worm gear (aka, worm wheel).
For the pair to mesh, the worm and worm gear must have the same pressure angles, modules, and lead directions (left- or right-hand).
A worm revolves on a shaft that’s perpendicular to the worm gear and the shaft angle is typically 90°. Because the teeth gradually mesh as the worm rotates, there is low noise and low vibration.
