KCG3-20R1 is a bronze worm wheel with a 20:1 reduction ratio, 20 mm normal module, 1 start, and a right-hand helix angle of 3°55'. It has a 20 mm bore, 50 mm hub diameter, 60.14 mm pitch diameter, 66 mm throat diameter, 69 mm outside diameter, and 28 mm face width. The worm wheel is made of CAC502 material with a sand mold casting finish and adheres to KHK W 002 grade 4 precision. The allowable torque at 30 rpm is 22.1 N·m, decreasing to 14.0 N·m at 1200 rpm, with a backlash range of 0.15 to 0.33 mm and a weight of 0.73 kg.
Module 3, 20 Tooth, 1 Start, Right Handed Cast Iron Worm Gear with Plain Bore
A worm gear pair, or worm gear set, consists of two gears: the worm, which resembles a spiral screw, and the worm gear (aka, worm wheel).
For the pair to mesh, the worm and worm gear must have the same pressure angles, modules, and lead directions (left- or right-hand).
A worm revolves on a shaft that’s perpendicular to the worm gear and the shaft angle is typically 90°. Because the teeth gradually mesh as the worm rotates, there is low noise and low vibration.
