KCG2.5-20R1J15 is a right-hand lead bronze worm wheel with a 20:1 reduction ratio, 2.5 mm module, and 15 mm bore. It has 20 teeth, 1 start, and a helix angle of 3°52'. The hub diameter is 12 mm, pitch diameter is 50.11 mm, outside diameter is 55 mm, and face width is 22 mm. The mating worm has a 15 mm shaft length, 5 mm × 2.3 mm keyway, M4 set screw, and weighs 0.39 kg. The wheel is made of CAC502 with a sand mold casting finish and meets KHK W 002 grade 4 precision standards. Backlash ranges from 0.13 to 0.31 mm. This is a J Series variant available on request.

A worm gear pair, or worm gear set, consists of two gears: the worm, which resembles a spiral screw, and the worm gear (aka, worm wheel).
For the pair to mesh, the worm and worm gear must have the same pressure angles, modules, and lead directions (left- or right-hand).
A worm revolves on a shaft that’s perpendicular to the worm gear and the shaft angle is typically 90°. Because the teeth gradually mesh as the worm rotates, there is low noise and low vibration.
