The KCG2-30R1J12 is a right-hand lead, module 2, cast iron worm gear with a 12 mm bore, 30 teeth, and one start. It has a helix angle of 3°42', a hub width of 13 mm, a total length of 35 mm, and a mounting distance of 45.5 mm. The gear is designed for use with a steel worm and has an allowable torque of 15.6 N·m at 30 rpm, decreasing with higher speeds. Backlash is specified between 0.10 and 0.28 mm, and the weight is 0.57 kg. The gear teeth are standard full depth with a 14°30' pressure angle, and the precision grade is KHK W 002 grade 4. The J-series variant is available on request with a lead time of up to five working days after order placement.
Module 2, 30 Tooth, 1 Start, Right Handed Cast Iron Worm Gear with 12mm Finished Bore
A worm gear pair, or worm gear set, consists of two gears: the worm, which resembles a spiral screw, and the worm gear (aka, worm wheel).
For the pair to mesh, the worm and worm gear must have the same pressure angles, modules, and lead directions (left- or right-hand).
A worm revolves on a shaft that’s perpendicular to the worm gear and the shaft angle is typically 90°. Because the teeth gradually mesh as the worm rotates, there is low noise and low vibration.
