KCG2-20R2J12 is a right-hand lead, 2-start, gray iron worm wheel with a 20:1 reduction ratio, 12 mm bore, and 20 teeth, designed for use with a module 2 worm gear. It has a hub width of 13 mm, total length of 35 mm, mounting distance of 35.5 mm, and weighs 0.27 kg. The backlash is 0.10~0.28 mm. Precision grade is KHK W 002 grade 4, and it operates with a standard full-depth tooth profile at a 14°30' pressure angle. The J series variant is available on request with a lead time of up to 5 working days after order placement. The worm wheel is produced from FC200 gray iron with no heat treatment applied to the tooth surface.

A worm gear pair, or worm gear set, consists of two gears: the worm, which resembles a spiral screw, and the worm gear (aka, worm wheel).
For the pair to mesh, the worm and worm gear must have the same pressure angles, modules, and lead directions (left- or right-hand).
A worm revolves on a shaft that’s perpendicular to the worm gear and the shaft angle is typically 90°. Because the teeth gradually mesh as the worm rotates, there is low noise and low vibration.
