KCG2-20L2 is a left-hand lead worm gear with a 20:1 reduction ratio, module 2, 20 teeth, and two starts, designed for use with steel worms. It features a 12 mm bore, 33 mm hub diameter, 40.34 mm pitch diameter, 64 mm center distance, and 22 mm face width. Constructed from gray iron (FC200), it has no heat treatment and a standard full-depth gear tooth with a 14°30' pressure angle. The allowable torque at 1200 rpm is 2.88 N·m, with a backlash range of 0.10-0.28 mm and a weight of 0.27 kg. Precision grade is KHK W 002 grade 4, and keyways follow JIS B1301 standards with Js9 tolerance.
Module 2, 20 Tooth, 2 Start, Left Handed Cast Iron Worm Gear with Plain Bore
A worm gear pair, or worm gear set, consists of two gears: the worm, which resembles a spiral screw, and the worm gear (aka, worm wheel).
For the pair to mesh, the worm and worm gear must have the same pressure angles, modules, and lead directions (left- or right-hand).
A worm revolves on a shaft that’s perpendicular to the worm gear and the shaft angle is typically 90°. Because the teeth gradually mesh as the worm rotates, there is low noise and low vibration.
