KCG1-100R1 is a right-hand lead, 100-tooth, 1-start gray iron worm gear with a 10 mm bore, 40 mm hub diameter, 100.2 mm pitch diameter, 102 mm throat diameter, 103 mm outside diameter, 10 mm face width, 10 mm hub width, 20 mm total length, and a web thickness of 6 mm. It has a mounting distance of 58 mm, a backlash of 0.06 to 0.24 mm, and weighs 0.47 kg. The gear operates with a 20° normal pressure angle and is manufactured to KHK W 002 grade 4 precision. It is made of FC200 gray iron with no heat treatment applied.
Module 1, 100 Tooth, 1 Start, Right Handed Cast Iron Worm Gear with Plain Bore
A worm gear pair, or worm gear set, consists of two gears: the worm, which resembles a spiral screw, and the worm gear (aka, worm wheel).
For the pair to mesh, the worm and worm gear must have the same pressure angles, modules, and lead directions (left- or right-hand).
A worm revolves on a shaft that’s perpendicular to the worm gear and the shaft angle is typically 90°. Because the teeth gradually mesh as the worm rotates, there is low noise and low vibration.
