KBG5-20R1 is a bronze worm gear with module 5, 20 teeth, 1 start, and right-hand helix angle of 4°06'. It has a plain bore of 22 mm, hub diameter of 75 mm, pitch diameter of 100.26 mm, throat diameter of 110 mm, outside diameter of 113 mm, and face width of 45 mm. The gear is precision grade KHK W 002 grade 4, made of CAC502 material with a sand mold casting finish. It is profile shifted for proper center distance and has a backlash range of 0.20~0.40 mm. The allowable torque at 30 rpm is 146 N·m, and the weight is 3.89 kg.
Module 5, 20 Tooth, 1 Start, Right Handed Bronze Worm Gear with Plain Bore
A worm gear pair, or worm gear set, consists of two gears: the worm, which resembles a spiral screw, and the worm gear (aka, worm wheel).
For the pair to mesh, the worm and worm gear must have the same pressure angles, modules, and lead directions (left- or right-hand).
A worm revolves on a shaft that’s perpendicular to the worm gear and the shaft angle is typically 90°. Because the teeth gradually mesh as the worm rotates, there is low noise and low vibration.
