KAGF5-40R1 is a right-hand lead worm wheel with a module of 5, 40 teeth, and a 5°43' helix angle, designed for use with a KKWG5-R1 worm shaft. It features a standard full-depth tooth profile, a hub and bore formed from FC200 cast iron, a pitch diameter of 200 mm, an outside diameter of 215 mm, a face width of 35 mm, and a hub width of 23 mm. The gear has a bore tolerance of H0, a total length of 130 mm, and weighs 9.97 kg. Allowable torque values are specified for rotational speeds up to 1800 rpm, with backlash ranging from 0.22 to 0.35 mm. The material is CAC702 aluminum bronze with a sand mold casting finish. No secondary operations are permitted on the tooth area.

A worm gear pair, or worm gear set, consists of two gears: the worm, which resembles a spiral screw, and the worm gear (aka, worm wheel).
For the pair to mesh, the worm and worm gear must have the same pressure angles, modules, and lead directions (left- or right-hand).
A worm revolves on a shaft that’s perpendicular to the worm gear and the shaft angle is typically 90°. Because the teeth gradually mesh as the worm rotates, there is low noise and low vibration.
