KAGF5-36R1 is a right-hand lead worm wheel with module 5, 36 teeth, and one start, designed for use with KHK worm shafts. It features a 20° normal pressure angle, standard full-depth teeth, and is made of CAC702 aluminum bronze with a sand mold casting finish. The gear has a hub made from FC200 cast iron, a bore diameter of 110 mm, a pitch diameter of 180 mm, an outside diameter of 195 mm, a face width of 35 mm, and a hub width of 23 mm. The allowable torque at 30 rpm is 627 N·m, with a backlash range of 0.22 to 0.35 mm and a weight of 7.70 kg.

A worm gear pair, or worm gear set, consists of two gears: the worm, which resembles a spiral screw, and the worm gear (aka, worm wheel).
For the pair to mesh, the worm and worm gear must have the same pressure angles, modules, and lead directions (left- or right-hand).
A worm revolves on a shaft that’s perpendicular to the worm gear and the shaft angle is typically 90°. Because the teeth gradually mesh as the worm rotates, there is low noise and low vibration.
