KAGF4-40R1 is a right-hand lead worm gear with module 4, 40 teeth, and one start, designed for use with worm shafts. It features a plain bore of 20 mm, a hub diameter of 80 mm, a pitch diameter of 160 mm, a throat diameter of 168 mm, an outside diameter of 172 mm, a face width of 30 mm, and a hub width of 20 mm. The gear is made from CAC702 aluminum bronze and is cast with a sand mold finish. The precision grade is KHK W 002 grade 2, with a standard 20° normal pressure angle and full-depth teeth. The allowable torque at 100 rpm is 370 N·m, and the weight is 5.25 kg.
Module 4, 40 Tooth, 1 Start, Right Handed Aluminum Bronze Worm Gear with Plain Bore
A worm gear pair, or worm gear set, consists of two gears: the worm, which resembles a spiral screw, and the worm gear (aka, worm wheel).
For the pair to mesh, the worm and worm gear must have the same pressure angles, modules, and lead directions (left- or right-hand).
A worm revolves on a shaft that’s perpendicular to the worm gear and the shaft angle is typically 90°. Because the teeth gradually mesh as the worm rotates, there is low noise and low vibration.
