The KAGF2.5-60R1 is a right-hand lead worm gear with a module of 2.5, 60 teeth, and a single start, designed for use with matching worm shafts. It has a bore diameter of 60 mm, a hub width of 20 mm, a face width of 20 mm, an outside diameter of 157.5 mm, and a throat diameter of 155 mm. The gear features a standard full-depth tooth profile with a 20° normal pressure angle and is made from CAC702 aluminum bronze. The hub is designed with a H9 fit tolerance. The gear has a weight of 2.59 kg and exhibits a backlash range of 0.14 to 0.27 mm. Allowable torque values are provided for operating speeds up to 1800 rpm, with a value of 112 N·m at 1800 rpm under specified conditions. Precision grade conforms to KHK W 002 grade 2.

A worm gear pair, or worm gear set, consists of two gears: the worm, which resembles a spiral screw, and the worm gear (aka, worm wheel).
For the pair to mesh, the worm and worm gear must have the same pressure angles, modules, and lead directions (left- or right-hand).
A worm revolves on a shaft that’s perpendicular to the worm gear and the shaft angle is typically 90°. Because the teeth gradually mesh as the worm rotates, there is low noise and low vibration.
