KAGDL3.5-60R1 is a duplex worm wheel with a nominal module of 3.5, 60 teeth, and a right-hand helix angle of 3°47'. It has a bore diameter of 90 mm, hub diameter of 210 mm, pitch diameter of 240 mm, outside diameter of 248 mm, face width of 35 mm, and hub width of 20 mm. The gear is made from CAC702 aluminum bronze with a sand mold casting finish, and features a standard full-depth tooth profile at a normal pressure angle of 17°30'. The maximum allowable backlash is 0±0.045 mm, and the weight is 6.87 kg. The unit is rated for a center distance adjustment of up to 131.5 mm and has allowable torques ranging from 753 N·m at 30 rpm to 296 N·m at 1800 rpm. Duplex worm wheels must be mated with a corresponding worm in a predetermined orientation as indicated by arrows.

A worm gear pair, or worm gear set, consists of two gears: the worm, which resembles a spiral screw, and the worm gear (aka, worm wheel).
For the pair to mesh, the worm and worm gear must have the same pressure angles, modules, and lead directions (left- or right-hand).
A worm revolves on a shaft that’s perpendicular to the worm gear and the shaft angle is typically 90°. Because the teeth gradually mesh as the worm rotates, there is low noise and low vibration.
