KAGDL3-36R1 is a duplex worm wheel with a module of 3, 36 teeth, right-handed thread, and a standard full-depth tooth profile with a normal pressure angle of 17°30'. It is made of CAC702 aluminum bronze with no heat treatment, and has a pitch diameter of 108 mm, an outside diameter of 117 mm, a face width of 28 mm, and a hub width of 17 mm. The total length is 76 mm, with a mounting distance of 76 mm and a maximum allowable backlash of 0±0.045 mm. The allowable torque at 300 rpm is 128 N·m, and it weighs 2.32 kg. The gear must be mated with a corresponding duplex worm in a predetermined orientation as indicated by alignment arrows.

A worm gear pair, or worm gear set, consists of two gears: the worm, which resembles a spiral screw, and the worm gear (aka, worm wheel).
For the pair to mesh, the worm and worm gear must have the same pressure angles, modules, and lead directions (left- or right-hand).
A worm revolves on a shaft that’s perpendicular to the worm gear and the shaft angle is typically 90°. Because the teeth gradually mesh as the worm rotates, there is low noise and low vibration.
