KAG4-60R1 is a right-hand lead worm gear with a module of 4, 60 teeth, and one start, designed for use with matched worms in speed reduction applications. It has a bore diameter of 100 mm, a pitch diameter of 240 mm, a throat diameter of 248 mm, an outside diameter of 252 mm, and a face width of 30 mm. The gear features a web thickness of 17 mm, a hub width of 20 mm, and a total length of 50 mm, with a backlash range of 0.19 to 0.32 mm. It is rated for allowable torques up to 881 N·m at 30 rpm and 337 N·m at 1800 rpm, and weighs 8.74 kg. The gear is made from CAC702 aluminum bronze, with no heat treatment applied to the teeth.
Module 4, 60 Tooth, 1 Start, Right Handed Aluminum Bronze Worm Gear with Plain Bore
A worm gear pair, or worm gear set, consists of two gears: the worm, which resembles a spiral screw, and the worm gear (aka, worm wheel).
For the pair to mesh, the worm and worm gear must have the same pressure angles, modules, and lead directions (left- or right-hand).
A worm revolves on a shaft that’s perpendicular to the worm gear and the shaft angle is typically 90°. Because the teeth gradually mesh as the worm rotates, there is low noise and low vibration.
