KAG1.5-30R2 is a right-hand lead worm gear with a module of 1.5, 30 teeth, 2 starts, and a helix angle of 6°51'. It has a bore diameter of 30 mm, hub diameter of 45 mm, pitch diameter of 45 mm, throat diameter of 48 mm, outside diameter of 49.5 mm, face width of 14 mm, hub width of 10 mm, total length of 24 mm, and a weight of 0.22 kg. The allowable torque values are 20.7 N·m at 30 rpm, 17.1 N·m at 100 rpm, 13.1 N·m at 300 rpm, 10.8 N·m at 600 rpm, 9.56 N·m at 900 rpm, 8.58 N·m at 1200 rpm, and 7.46 N·m at 1800 rpm. Backlash ranges from 0.10 to 0.21 mm. The gear is made of CAC702 aluminum bronze with no heat treatment. Precision grade is KHK W 002 grade 2.

A worm gear pair, or worm gear set, consists of two gears: the worm, which resembles a spiral screw, and the worm gear (aka, worm wheel).
For the pair to mesh, the worm and worm gear must have the same pressure angles, modules, and lead directions (left- or right-hand).
A worm revolves on a shaft that’s perpendicular to the worm gear and the shaft angle is typically 90°. Because the teeth gradually mesh as the worm rotates, there is low noise and low vibration.
