For additional security, Datakey offers the Secure Memory line of tokens, featuring the Unique ID series and the CryptoMemory® series. Secure Memory tokens are available with I2C interfaces and capacities from 1 Kb to 256 Kb. The tokens feature:
Ultra-rugged Construction – SlimLine™ tokens are solid over-molded using a durable composite, making them impervious to liquids and virtually crush-proof.
Redundant Contacts – With contacts on both sides of the memory token it is impossible to insert it “upside-down.”
Branding Options – The tokens are available in six standard colors and come in standard and extended lengths. The extended length token can be OEM-branded with a molded-in logo.
Datakey’s IEX series of CryptoMemory extended tokens incorporate the highly secure symmetric dynamic mutual authentication protocols provided by Atmel Corporation’s CryptoMemory products. Encrypted passwords, mutual authentication, data encryption, and encrypted checksums provide extremely high levels of data security. Datakey’s IEX series of extended tokens are compliant with the Atmel 2-wire protocol and is available with user EEPROM memory capacities of 1 Kbit to 256 Kbit. The IEX series features Datakey’s industry-leading solid molded construction, rugged wear-resistant exterior and long-lasting contacts. These tokens interface to Datakey’s standard SlimLine™ Token Receptacles–consult factory.
64-bit Encryption
The IEX, or CryptoMemory extended token, features a symmetric dynamic mutual authentication using a 64-bit key to authenticate both the host system and the token. Access is granted to the protected memory zone only after successful calculations and an attempt counter can be used to permanently lock down the protected zone after a number of failed attempts.
Unique Identification Number
The IEX also provides a secure and unique serial number which can be used to control the number of device uses and prevent counterfeiting.
