For additional security, Datakey offers the Secure Memory line of keys, featuring the Unique ID series and the CryptoMemory® series. Secure Memory keys are available with I2C interfaces and capacities from 1 Kb to 256 Kb. The keys feature: Ultra-rugged Construction – Serial Memory keys are solid over-molded using a durable composite, making them impervious to liquids and virtually crush-proof. Redundant Contacts – With contacts on both sides of the memory key it is impossible to insert it “upside-down.” Branding Options – The keys are available in six standard colors and have custom logo options for the shank and head areas. Datakey IEK CryptoMemory® keys incorporates the highly secure symmetric dynamic mutual authentication protocols provided by Microchip’s CryptoMemory® products. Password-protected memory zones, mutual authentication, data encryption, and encrypted checksums provide extremely high levels of data security. Datakey IEK memory keys utilize an I2C interface and are available with user EEPROM memory capacities of 1 Kbit to 256 Kbit. The IEK series features solid over-molded construction and long-lasting electrical contacts. The IEK series memory keys interface to Datakey KC4210 and KC4210PCB receptacles. 64-bit Encryption IEK CryptoMemory® keys feature a symmetric dynamic mutual authentication using a 64-bit key to authenticate both the host system and the key. Access is granted to the protected memory zone only after successful calculations and an attempt counter can be used to permanently lock down the protected zone after a number of failed attempts. Unique Identification Number IEK keys also provide a secure and unique serial number which can be used to control the number of device uses and prevent counterfeiting.
