Data Device Corporation (DDC) Data Bus Interface Chip (1553) BU-66318

Description
Description: The BU-66318 ACE-Bridge provides a simple, complete and tested solution for interfacing any of DDC's ACE series (including the ACE, Mini-ACEâ ¢, Enhanced Mini-ACE, Micro-ACE and Mini-ACE Mark3 series) MIL-STD-1553 terminals to a PCI bus. The ACE-Bridge connects directly to any 3.3 volt PCI bus as a Target device. With its interrupt support and a 32 deep by 32-bit wide FIFO allowing for burst write transfers, the BU-66318 can significantly reduce system overhead by utilizing the efficiency of the PCI bus. The BU-66318 may be connected to up to six ACE series MIL-STD- 1553 terminals directly without any "glue logic." Utilizing a SELECT and STROBE handshake method, the BU-66318 accesses all of its MIL-STD-1553 terminals RAM and Registers through a 16 bit Address / Data bus. Support for an optional local microprocessor is included in the ACEBridge. If a local microprocessor is added, the BU-66318 uses a DMA type handshake method to arbitrate for the local bus. A shared RAM interface is also included.
