Additional Features: Voltage: 1200V Current: 0.01A Power: 65W Three Digit Resolution Overload Protection Solid-State Design The Keithley 240A Power Supply is a high voltage, compact, accurate supply with calibrated, in-line dials for fast, easy selection of output. The supply’s 0 to ±1200 volt output and versatility make it ideal for both laboratory and production test applications. The 240A is commonly used in resistivity measurements, with photomultiplier tubes and other detectors, and in production testing of capacitors and semiconductors. Voltages are selectable in 1-volt increments and a trim-potentiometer permits interpolation between steps. Output current of up to 10 milliamperes can be drawn from the 240A. Three in-line calibrated dials set the output volatage in 1 V steps. A TRIM Control permits interpolation between steps with better than 5 mV resolution. Output can be selected positive or negative with respect to ground. Repeated overloading or operation in an overload condition for long periods will not damage the Model 240A. Overload protection limits the output current to less than 13 mA and, when the overload is removed, automatically returns the supply to its set value. The circuit for the Model 240A takes advantage of the reliability and stability of a solid-state comparator amplifier, and the high voltage capability of a series regulator tube to provide a high performance circuit. The Model 240A will supply operating potentials for photomultiplier tubes, electron multipliers, solid-state radiation detectors and ionization chambers. It can also be used in the calibration of meters and electrostatic probes. Typical production testing applications are semiconductor and capacitor leakage environments. The output of the voltage supply may be remotely controlled or programmed by adding a connector to the rear panel.
