Overview Safe transportation is a critical element of full community participation for persons with physical disabilities, and public bus systems are often a critical mode of transportation for these passengers. It is important that transit buses used by transit operations in their routine service be fully accessible. First published in 2002, this second edition of CSA D435 provides updated requirements that help enable transit operators to integrate persons with disabilities into their normal services. It is designed to complement CSA D436 Accessible Over-the-Road Buses and is also intended to be used in conjunction with standards issued by Transport Canada under the federal Motor Vehicle Safety Regulations (MVSR).
