CSA Preface This is the third edition of CAN/CSA-E60384-14, Fixed capacitors for use in electronic equipment - Part 14: Sectional specification - Fixed capacitors for electromagnetic interference suppression and connection to the supply mains, which is an adoption, with Canadian deviations, of the identically titled IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) Standard 60384-14 (fourth edition, 2013-06). It supersedes the previous edition published in 2009 as CAN/CSA-E60384-14 (adopted IEC 60384-14:2005). For brevity, this Standard will be referred to as "CAN/CSA-E60384-14" throughout. This Standard is intended to be used in conjunction with CAN/CSA-E60384-1:14, Fixed capacitors for use in electronic equipment - Part 1: Generic specification (adopted IEC 60384-1:2008, with Canadian deviations). This Standard has been developed in compliance with Standards Council of Canada requirements for National Standards of Canada. It has been published as a National Standard of Canada by CSA Group. Scope This part of IEC 60384 applies to capacitors and resistor-capacitor combinations which will be connected to an a.c. mains or other supply with nominal voltage not exceeding 1 000 V a.c. (r.m.s.) or 1 000 V d.c. and with a nominal frequency not exceeding 100 Hz.
