Preface This is the first edition of CAN/CSA-E61951-1, Secondary cells and batteries containing alkaline or other non-acid electrolytes - Portable sealed rechargeable single cells - Part 1: Nickel-cadmium, which is an adoption, with Canadian deviations, of the identically titled IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) Standard 61951-1 (third edition, 2013-10). For brevity, this Standard will be referred to as "CAN/CSA-E61951-1" throughout. Scope This part of IEC 61951 specifies marking, designation, dimensions, tests and requirements for portable sealed nickel-cadmium small prismatic, cylindrical and button rechargeable single cells, suitable for use in any orientation.
