Preface Boilers, pressure vessels, pressure piping and fittings pose potential health and safety risks if they are not designed, installed, operated and/or maintained in accordance to the seventeenth edition of this standard. Potential health and safety hazards of leaking vessels include fires, explosion hazards, poisonings and suffocations (depending on the fluid being contained). There are three parts to this standard: Part 1: Contains requirements for boilers, pressure vessels, pressure piping and fittings Promotes safe design, construction, installation, operation, inspection, testing and repair practices Part 2: Contains requirements for high-pressure cylinders for on-board storage of fuels for automotive vehicles Specifies minimum requirements for serially-produced lightweight refillable gas cylinders Part 3: Contains requirements for compressed natural gas & hydrogen refueling station pressure piping systems and ground storage vessels
