Overview
Improper installation of household appliances -- including furnaces, boilers, stoves, ranges, factory-built fireplaces and water heaters – are a leading cause of house fires and carbon monoxide poisoning. This new standard specifies the requirements for the installation, alteration and maintenance of solid-fuel-burning appliances and equipment installed indoors or outdoors. “Solid fuel" includes cord wood, wood chips, sawdust, peat logs wood, kernel corn and coal. CSA B365-10 targets apprentices to career fuel-burning appliance professionals, contractors or business owners.
