Thin Film Polarizers separate the s- and p-polarization components. They are designed for use in high energy laser applications. Due to a high damage threshold, Thin Film Polarizers are used as an alternative to Glan Laser Polariser or Polarising Beamsplitter Cube.
Typical applications are intracavity Q-switch hold-off polarizer or extra cavity attenuator for Nd:YAG lasers.
For optimal transmission Thin Film Polarizer should be mounted in an appropriate holder for angular adjustment. Thin Film Polarizers are used in any Q-switch Pulsed lasers both in Industrial and medical systems, where they serve as intracavity Q-switch hold-off polarizers. They also can be used as extra cavity attenuator for Nd:YAG lasers.
ADVANTAGES:
● Provide linear polarization of laser radiation
● Rs/Tp:>99.8/95.0 % for standard thin film polarizers or Rs/Tp:>99.8/98.0 % for high transmittance thin film laser polarizers
● High damage threshold reaching 10 J/cm2
● High Extinction ratio —— 1000:1 and 500:1
● Wide working temperature (-40℃—— +60℃)
