CODESYS Control RTE SL is a real-time software PLC for PC-based industrial controllers under Windows, programmable with the IEC 61131-3 CODESYS development system. It runs on Windows 10, 11, or IoT Enterprise (32-bit or 64-bit) with multicore CPUs and requires the CODESYS Development System V3.5 SP19 Patch 1 or higher. The runtime system includes its own real-time kernel with microsecond-level jitter and supports multiple fieldbuses including EtherCAT, PROFINET, CANopen, Modbus TCP/Serial, and PROFIBUS. Licensing is application-based and can be activated on a software container bound to the device or a CODESYS Key USB dongle; unlicensed operation is limited to a two-hour demo mode. Installation is restricted to physical hardware-containers and virtual machines are unsupported, and hyperthreading and efficient cores must be deactivated. The part is delivered as a .zip file containing Setup.exe (64-bit).
