The SENTRY 50 PLUS is a HiPot from Quadtech. HiPot, or high potential, is a class of electronic test equipment used to verify electrical insulation. Engineers use HiPot-testing instruments on cables, wires, circuit boards, appliances, electric motors, and transformers. As a product ages, its insulation may break down and result in current flow leakage. HiPot testers keep engineers safe from current leakages by detecting gaps and defects in the electronic device. Dielectric Testers, Insulation Testers, and Megohmmeters are similar to HiPot testers. Popular manufacturers include Biddle, Megger, Fluke, Associated Research, Quadtech, Instek, and Slaughter.
Additional Features:
Programmable Output Current from 3A to 30A AC
Programmable Source Voltage from 1.0 to 8.0V RMS
Resistance Measurements from 0.1mohm to 510mohms

Low Resistance Testing of Electrical Connections
The QuadTech Sentry 50 Plus has a user programmable output current of 3A to 30A AC in 0.01A steps, and provides extensive coverage for testing to UL, CSA, VDE, IEC and other agency safety requirements. The Sentry 50 Plus has a Programmable Source Voltage which limits the voltage to the DUT using the programmable source voltage from 1.0V to 8.0V RMS and meet the low voltage requirement of CSA 22.2 No. 0.4 Bonding and Grounding of Electrical Equipment (4V, 30A, 100mω limit, 2-minute test) plus many others.
A resistance measurement range from 0.1m ohm to 510m ohm plus user programmable high and low resistance limits with Pass/Fail indication make this tester ideal for production Go/NoGo testing and you can incorporate the Sentry 50 Plus unit into an automated manufacturing environment with remote start and Go/NoGo results output through the rear panel PLC interface. Front panel display of an operator prompted calibration routine makes for no internal adjustments.
The Sentry 50 Plus can be used alone or connected to the Sentry Plus 10, 20 or 30 HiPot Testers for complete product electrical safety testing with the push of one button. When the Sentry 50 Plus has completed a continuity test, with pass indication, it can remotely start the Sentry Plus Series instrument for a HiPot test in sequence.
