In addition to the 9710 features, the 9730 has the capability to allow TOTAL analysis, whether it is Total sulfur or Total Chlorides. Let’s consider the following as an example: For Total Sulfur Analysis the analyzer measures the presence of sulfur in gas process streams. Through hydrogenolysis, sulfur-containing compounds are converted to hydrogen sulfide (H2S). The reaction of H2S on the Sensi-tape produces a colored stain, the darkness of which is proportional to the concentration which is measured by a sensitive photo-optical system in the analyzer.
