Boeing Company (The) Maritime Surveillance Aircraft

Description
Boeing has developed a new aircraft for a military customer built off a commercial platform – the Boeing Maritime Surveillance Aircraft. The Boeing MSA does more than leverage past programs; it directly applies advanced, proven and fielded intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities from the Boeing P-8, Airborne Warning and Control System, and Airborne Early Warning & Control programs to solve customers’ maritime domain awareness challenges. Maritime Surveillance Aircraft Quick Facts The Maritime Surveillance Aircraft employs leading-edge sensors, interoperable data links, high-bandwidth line-of-sight and over-the-horizon communications. The aircraft has a complete sensor set that includes an Active Electronically Scanned Array multi-mode radar, high-definition Electro-Optical/Infr ared camera, and advanced Electronic Support. The platform provides reliable, cost-effective operations for maritime surveillance, anti-piracy, economic exclusion zone (EEZ) patrol, overland ISR, long-range search and rescue, and other strategic missions. The aircraft’s interior configuration is versatile and reconfigurable to provide simultaneous or standalone surveillance, executive transport or medevac capabilities. Maritime Surveillance Aircraft Technical Specifications Wing Span 65 ft (19.8 m) Height 21 ft (6.4 m) Length 69 ft (21 m) Propulsion Two advanced, high bypass turbofans 8,700+ lbf (3,950+ kgf) thrust High Speed Cruise Mach 0.80+ (459+ knots true air speed) Ceiling 41,000 ft (12,497 m) Crew 2 pilots 3 to 5 mission crew Max Gross Takeoff Weight 48,200 lbs (21,863 kg) Endurance 8+hrs ISR profile 8+hrs maritime patrol profile
