This standard is intended to incorporate K-12 ITS design in the building development process by contributing to architectural considerations and providing information that cuts across multidisciplinary design efforts.
This standard specifies minimum requirements and guidelines for the design of Information Transport Systems (ITS) infrastructure for K-12 educational institutions. It is intended to be used by K-12 facility owners, facility operators, architects, engineers, telecommunications and information technology (IT) consultants, project managers, and telecommunications/I
T technology installers. It is not intended to be the sole source of information for the design of ITS for K-12 institutions. Examples of classroom layouts are illustrated in figures 1, 2, 3, and 4.
