Centre distances, gear ratios and tooth systems have been chosen in accordance with DIN 3975/76. Ground, right hand worms together with worm wheels of special worm-gear bronze and oil-bath lubrication ensure good effciency, smooth running in each direction of rotation and a long service life. The fully machined casing with its 28 predrilled mounting and threaded holes permits mounting in any desired position. The heavily ribbed aluminium alloy casing ensures quick heat dis- sipation. The built-in deep-groove and angular-contact and/or taper roller bearings are lubricated for life and hermetically sealed to prevent the penetration of dirt in any mounting po- sition, both from the surroundings and from the interior of the gear unit. The plugs for venting , draining and oil level check can be interchanged depending upon the mounting of the gear unit
