ATLANTA Drive Systems, Inc. Light Duty Slip Hub 04 05 005

Description
Slip hubs serve as overload protection and as safety devices of machinery driven by sprocket wheels, gears or pulleys. In the case of overloading, the driving element in the hub will slip thus limiting the torque. Atlanta off-the shelf standard drive elements can be used for this purpose without problem after appropriate fnishing (face grinding etc.). Function The driving element (sprocket wheel etc.) is slid onto the bush and clamped between the friction linings by means of the thrust disc, the disc springs and the adjusting nut provided with a safety washer. The more the spring discs are compressed by the adjusting nut, the higher is the torque at which the driving elements will slip. Slip hubs are completely phosphated and thus protected against corrosion so that they are also suitable for exterior mounting on machinery without further fnishing. The slip hub is completely closed. No disc springs are visible from the outside, and no contamination of interior parts is possible. Inside the slip hub the driving elements run on a wear-resistant bush preventing the coupling unit from being damaged even in the case of prolonged slipping.
