ASTM International Standard Practice for Pavement Condition Index Surveys for Interlocking Concrete Roads and Parking Lots ASTM E2840-11(2019)

Description
1.1 This practice is used to assess the condition of roads and parking lots surfaced with interlocking concrete pavement through visual surveys using the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) method of quantifying pavement condition. 1.2 The PCI for roads and parking lots was developed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (1, 2).2 It is further verified and adopted by DOD and APWA. This standard is an adaptation of the PCI method for interlocking concrete pavements. 1.3 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematical conversions to SI units that are provided for information only and are not considered standard. 1.4 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.
