ASTM International Standard Practice for Measuring and Compensating for Transmittance of an Attenuating Medium Using Infrared Imaging Radiometers ASTM E1897-14(2018)

1.1 This practice covers procedures for measuring and compensating for transmittance when using an infrared imaging radiometer to measure the temperature of a specimen through an attenuating medium, such as a window, filter, or atmosphere.2 1.2 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as standard. No other units of measurement are included in this standard. 1.3 These procedures may involve use of equipment and materials in the presence of heated or electrically-energiz ed equipment, or both. 1.4 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use.
