ASTM International Standard Test Method for Water Solubles in Activated Carbon ASTM D5029-98(2004)

1.1 This test method covers the determination of the water soluble content of (unused) granular and powdered activated carbons. Water solubles are materials that can be extracted by distilled water under reflux conditions and are expressed as a percentage of dry carbon weight. This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use.
