This specification covers acrylonitrile-butadi
ene-styrene (ABS) and poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) thermoplastic composite pipe, fittings, and a joining system for use in gravity flow, nonpressure sanitary sewer, and storm drain installations. ABS or PVC composite pipes shall consist of two concentric thermoplastic tubes integrally braced across the annulus and the resultant annular space shall be filled to provide continuous support between the inner and outer tubes. Referee and quality control tests shall be conducted in the standard laboratory atmosphere under the specified temperature and humidity conditions. The pipe shall be tested for performance requirements such as stiffness, deflection without rupture, acid conditioning, joint (solvent cement and elastomeric seal joints) tightness, and extrusion quality.
