1.1 This guide focuses on one key aspect of the system, the connection of concrete pipe and the precast concrete structure and the procedures to best accomplish this. The information presented in this guide provides guidance for opening sizing and grouting procedures for precast concrete pipe connections to precast structures. 1.2 This guide is not recommended for use with thermoplastic pipes to concrete structure connections. For those types of installations refer to the pipe manufacturers' recommendations and procedures. 1.3 Units\u2014The values stated in either inch pound or [SI units] are to be regarded separately as standard. The SI units are shown in brackets. The values stated in each system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each system should be used independently. 1.4 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use.
