Pyrogel XTF is an aerogel blanket insulation designed for high-temperature applications, providing both exceptional thermal performance and passive fire protection. It is capable of withstanding hydrocarbon pool fires for up to 3 hours and jet fires for up to 2 hours, making it suitable for critical safety applications. The insulation maintains a maximum use temperature of 650°C (1200°F) and features a low thermal conductivity, ranging from 0.14 BTU-in/hr-ft¬=-°F at 32°F to 0.62 BTU-in/hr-ft¬=-°F at 1112°F. The product is hydrophobic and breathable, which helps to protect underlying assets from corrosion under insulation (CUI) and ensures that process conditions are maintained in harsh environments. Pyrogel XTF is lightweight and can be installed in all weather conditions without the need for curing time, allowing for immediate asset protection. It is also flexible, easily cut with conventional tools, and can be removed and reused after inspection. The insulation is available in bulk rolls of 850 square feet and has a thickness of 0.4 inches.
Pyrogel® XTF aerogel insulation provides superior thermal performance and passive fire protection (PFP) for pipes and vessels. As an all-in-one solution, Pyrogel XTF insulation reduces installation costs by eliminating the need for coatings and additional structural support typically required by traditional PFP solutions. It not only protects assets during fire events, but Pyrogel XTF’s class-leading corrosion under fireproofing (CUF) defense can reduce the risk of degrading assets.
