The Standard provides requirements for the design and use of hoisting, rigging, and transporting equipment used in the delivery of nuclear facility components. This standard is applicable to nuclear power plants (NPP), small modular reactors (SMR), and advanced reactors and other nuclear and high-risk facilities. For nuclear facilities, it covers component handling from point of receipt until the start of the facility’s operating phase, defined as the point of initial fuel load. The requirements of this Standard are also applicable to the design and use of hoisting, rigging, and transporting equipment for modification at operating nuclear facilities when such equipment is not already controlled by existing facility procedures.
