The 28-3554-11 is a Zero-Insertion-Force (ZIF) DIP test socket designed for universal application with integrated circuits and transistors. It accommodates devices with pin centers ranging from 0.300 to 0.600 inches and supports various pin counts. The socket features normally-closed contacts that enhance contact integrity without relying on plastic components. It can be mounted on either side and allows for soldering into PCBs or plugging into receptacles. Constructed from black UL 94V-0 glass-filled Polyphenylene Sulfide (PPS) for the socket body and stainless steel for the handle, it ensures durability. The contacts are made from beryllium copper or spinodal alloy, with multiple plating options available, including nickel underplating and tin or gold finishes. The socket has a contact current rating of 1 amp, insulation resistance of 1000 MΩ minimum, and a dielectric withstand voltage of 1000 VAC. It operates effectively within a temperature range of -85°F to 221°F and has a lifecycle of 25,000 to 50,000 cycles. The retention force is rated at 55g per pin, making it suitable for a variety of applications.
