The KGK series Argal pumps of G1 and G2 dimension group are centrifugal pumps designed for vertical installations, with column and volute casing submerged, dedicated mechanical support, motor mounted above the liquid to be pumped, downward axial hydraulic suction, tangential and outlet connected to the vertical delivery pipe passing through the supplied base plate. Shaft of pumps longer than 2000 mm is supported with additional intermediate bearing.
SAFE AND DURABLE Designed to pump aggressive liquids are characterised by solutions apt to deliver long operative life and functionality:
No metallic part wet by the liquid pumped.
Compact electric motor support encasing the flexible joint and the bearing assy, eases use of the pump in restricted quarters common to several applications. lowers the barycentre of the equipment.
No need of sealing systems to contain spilling of liquid pumped.
Different vapour sealing systems meet different operating conditions.
Standard filter with 3 mm free passages screwed on the suction.
MODULAR CONSTRUCTION KGK pumps are manufactured in two dimensional groups namely G1 and G2 made up by different mechanical and hydraulic parts but such that major component subjected to repair or wear are the same for all pumps belonging to each dimensional group.
BEARING SUPPORT
Cast iron bearing support dimensioned to support the transmission shaft and all the dynamic loads generated by the pump. It is the privileged solution for heavy duty continuous operations.
Flexible joint coupling allows to execute maintenance on motor or pumps independently.
CHEMICAL RESISTANCE
All components of the pumps wetted by the liquid pumped deliver excellent chemical resistance and are manufactured in PP or PVDF:
PP polypropylene , thermoplastic U.V. stabilised
PVDF Vynilidene polyfluoride
Pumps can be constructed also with composite material as:
With column and delivery pipe reinforced with an external sheeting of FRP ( glass fibre reinforced with vinyl ester )
CHARACTERISTICS The KGK series Argal pumps with lengths from 500 to 4000 mm , are centrifugal pumps designed for vertical installations, with column and volute casing submerged, dedicated mechanical support, motor mounted above the liquid to be pumped, downward axial hydraulic suction, tangential outlet connected to the vertical delivery pipe passing through the supplied base plate. Shaft of pumps longer than 2000 mm is supported with additional intermediate bearing.
SHAFT GUIDE BUSHINGS Shaft guide bushings are available in the following combination of materials.
Glass reinforced PTFE over Alumina Ceramis for general purpose use included liquid containing crystals and floccules;
Silicium carbide over Silicium carbide for liquid laden with significant qty. of solids or to cope with aggressive fluorinated liquids or strong alkalis
Shaft guide bushings are lubricated directly with the liquid pumped or through external flushing with fresh water in case the liquid to be pumped is laden with solids. VAPOUR SEALING The vapours developing in the pump are contained by mean of a dry vapour seal mounted in the proximity of the base plate and active either in static or dynamic conditions. This standard seal counters pressure up to 60 mbar. Higher pressures require other optional dry constructions or mechanical seal flushed with liquid pumped. PERFORMANCES AND VERSATILITY Each pump model can be configured with different electric motors of increasing rated power , to met the power demand of liquids with increasing specific gravity. Standard electric motors comply to IEC, rated 400Vac +/- -5%, multi frequency 50-60 Hz, tropicalised, with protection class IP 55 and class F insulation. Optional choices of voltages and protection are available on demand. The speed of the 2 ps motors is either 2900 rpm / 50 hz or 3500 rpm / 60 hz, the speed of the 4 poles motors is 1450 rpm / 50 hz or 1750 rpm / 60 hz.
CONNECTIONS
PP execution threaded BSP and on demand, NPT or flanged ISO/ANSI;
PVDF execution flanged ISO o ANSI.
MAINTENANCE KGK pumps are designed to by easily maintained directly by the mechanical crew of the end user or distributors diffused worldwide.
