The HD38999 family of connectorshas 30% more contact density than the highest densityMil Spec 38999 connectors of its size. This series of connectorswas designed to utilize milspecified 38999 components with the exceptionof the contacts and inserts arrangement. Utilizingexisting mil-qualified 39029 size 23 contacts and 38999 insertmaterials, these connectors are essentially a drop-inreplacement for the standard 38999 connector. This connector design benefitsusers in a couple of different ways. For those users who need toincrease the amount of contacts in their application, theHD38999 series allows them to do so withoutincreasing the size of their connector. For users who arelooking to decrease the overall size of their system,they can do so by using smaller shell sizeswithout decreasing the number of contacts.
